What experience do you have?
Kristian is an award winning versatile and creative lighting camera operator/DOP with over 27 years broadcast TV experience, filming in many different situations, able to quickly adapt to rapidly changing situations and environments. ​
Kristian began his career as a staff, trainee multi-skilled operator at ITV Yorkshire in 1994. He progressed to staff camera operator where he worked for 2 years on news, sport, current affairs and the Tonight magazine show. He was then selected to be the first ever dedicated sports camera operator at ITV Yorkshire before moving onto international sports broadcaster BSKYB where he worked for several years as a contracted lighting camera operator across the full spectrum of Sky Sports programming, both in the UK and Europe. During this period he was assigned to work on numerous high profile sporting events and programmes.
Kristian turned freelance in 2003 and, although Sky Sports continued to be one of his main clients, he branched out into other areas of mainstream network programme production working for all the main terrestrial UK broadcasters, streaming platforms such as Netflix and numerous leading independent production companies on a wide variety of factual, entertainment and lifestyle programmes as well as business marketing content shoots for some of the worlds' biggest brands.
​Recent credits as lighting camera operator and DOP have included, "Grand Designs" for Channel 4
and "My Lover My Killer", "Kill Thy Neighbour" and "Sunderland Till I Die" for Netflix.
He continues to regularly work for the likes of BBC 1 O'clock & 10 O'clock News, BBC News Channel, BBC Breakfast, ITV News and Channel 4 News, as well as a number of foreign channels such as Channel 10 and ABC in Australia and ZDF and ARD TV in Germany. BIO

Can you provide drone filming?
Yes, Kristian provides aerial filming using a DJI Mini 2 Pro drone. Drone shoots are subject to weather conditions and location permissions, but he handles all risk assessments and permissions in advance. Full drone operating insurance is in place and Kristian is CAA certified. How far in advance should I book?
The earlier the better — especially for large-scale events or during busy periods. However, Kristian understands the fast turnaround of TV and corporate productions, and he is often asked to work at short notice.
